Always, always focus on what you want!

Above everything, at all times, focus on what you want (rather than not getting what you don’t want).  Picture how great it will feel and what it will mean for those around you.  This keeps your internal motivation switched on till you reach the goal!

Be present

Live in the moment and let go of re-living and replaying past events in your mind or worrying about the future.  Eleanor Roosevelt once said “Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present!”

Plan regular time out just for you

Do things that restore your soul and keep you feeling happy and content with the world. Plan it in and make it a priority, when you put you first everyone benefits!!!

Add Intensity

Add intensity by including short bursts of effort during your cardio workouts. This helps you save time and see great results.

The fitter you are, the stronger your heart and lungs are and the faster you burn fat.

Drink plenty of water every day

Drink enough water to ensure you have long clear wees.  It is as simple as keeping an eye on this to ensure you are well hydrated so your body and brain can function well.  If they’re yellow – drink more water!

“Eat fruit first” to re-set cravings

This ensures your body gets nourishment, hydration and energy from the real food before any treat and it avoids depriving yourself completely which is sure to backfire long term.

After a period of just six weeks of sticking to this strategy, you can re-set your cravings entirely!

Strength train every week

It is your fountain of youth as it makes you biologically younger!!!

Stick to functional compound exercises that work lots of muscles at once.  Aim for quality not just quantity and ensure great rest and recovery in between.

Eat more “real” food.

Focus first on getting more good stuff into your diet rather than having a deprivation mentality.

The more you tell yourself you can't eat something, the more you crave it and willpower is never a long-term solution.

Snack on exercise

Have an active attitude to life and get your heart rate up several times a day.

Look for opportunities to move your body.  Walk or bike whenever possible. Take mini energise breaks during the day for some 'deskercise'.  Play active games with your kids - you will all be laughing and they will love you for it!

Every little bit really does all add up and make a difference!
